Groove Number — Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read the groove.

Groove Number is built to work with the accessibility features already in iOS and iPadOS. Below is an honest account of what the app supports today — we only list what it genuinely does.

What Groove Number supports

• VoiceOver — every reading, control, and visualization is labeled. The tempo, swing %, key, and level are announced with their values, and the Swing Grid, Spectrogram, and Chromagram each provide a spoken summary (for example, the strongest pitch classes and the detected key), so you can use the whole app without seeing the screen.
• Larger Text (Dynamic Type) — text scales with your system text size, including the large BPM, swing %, and level readouts, so the numbers grow when you make text bigger.
• Reduced Motion — when Reduce Motion is on, non-essential animation is turned off (the beat indicator, level bars, and pulsing indicators settle to a steady state). The live spectrogram still updates, because that motion is the information it shows — and the same reading is always available as plain numbers.
• Differentiate Without Color — status is never carried by color alone. Timing and warnings are also shown with position, shape, text labels, and glyphs (for example, the loud “hot zone” on the level meter is marked with a shape, and the detected key’s row is marked with a symbol, not just a tint).
• Dark Interface — Groove Number follows your system appearance, with a fully designed light and dark mode.
• Sufficient Contrast — text and interface colors are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast against their backgrounds in both light and dark mode.

Not applicable

• Captions & Audio Descriptions — Groove Number has no video or spoken-word media, so these don’t apply.
• Voice Control — standard buttons and controls respond to Voice Control, but the app isn’t specifically tuned for a voice-first workflow, so we don’t claim full Voice Control support yet.
